Former Children's Center Employee Charged with Sexual Assault

The former center employee allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old center resident.


A New Haven man and former Children's Center employee was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old who resides at the Whitney Avenue center.
 
Det. Raymond Quinn and other members of the United States Marshal Service Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Donald Morris, 25, of 94 Diamond Street, New Haven, who was wanted by Hamden Police for allegedly sexually assaulting the 17 year-old at the Children’s Center of Hamden, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

Morris was arrested in Bridgeport, Smith said.

Morris was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was held in lieu of $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 19.

Det. Stephen Rossacci conducted the investigation, Smith said.
