Hamden Library To Host 'A Perky Pairing: Coffee And Fine Chocolates'

February is Chocolate Lovers Month! Learn how to pair fine chocolates with coffee by attending A Perky Pairing: Coffee and Fine Chocolates, Tuesday, February 21, 2023, 6:30 PM in Thornton Wilder Hall, 2901 Dixwell Ave in Hamden. The presenter is Kim Larkin, who is a licensed commercial chocolatier and is also certified by the Specialty Coffee Association in Coffee Foundations.

Participants receive a coffee-chocolate tasting wheel to help throughout the tasting. Ms. Larkin will discuss the health benefits of both dark chocolate and coffee, their origins, history, and how coffee specifically is “taken” around the world. Discover how exactly a cacao bean is transformed into chocolate, and the coffee bean into coffee. Additionally, participants will explore a variety of brewing methods, learn about the first baristas, and much more! The presentation wraps up with a fun, interactive quiz.
