Hamden's Own March Madness

Hamden's version of March Madness: a basketball game pitting HYC members and the Hamden Fire Department against other HYC members and the Hamden Police Department.

 

The Hamden Youth Services Bureau and the Hamden Youth Center will sponsor March Madness on Friday, March 22 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the gym of Hamden Board of Education, 60 Putnam Ave. Admission is $1 for guests 18 and under and $3 for adults.

March Madness is an annual fundraiser for the Hamden Youth Center and will feature a basketball game composed of one team featuring HYC members and the Hamden Fire Department against other HYC members and the Hamden Police Department.

The event will also have live entertainment, local guest appearances as well as raffles. Refreshments will also be sold.

Hamden’s March Madness is designed to bring together a diverse audience from the town of Hamden to share in the positive fellowship of our youth. Youth participating in the event are members of the Youth Center’s after-school program which is located at the Board of Education Building.

The after-school program offers year round quality programming, including basketball, field trips, leadership activities, arts, tutoring, and positive peer relations.The staff and youth of the Hamden Youth Center urge you and your families to come out and support our program at this exciting event.
