New Haven Woman Charged with Assault at Kohl's
The incident, which happened in January, left a loss prevention officer injured, according to police.

A New Haven woman was arrested on a warrant Tuesday alleging that she tried to steal clothing from Kohl's and then hit a store employee trying to get away from police.
The incident happened on Jan. 11, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. That day a loss prevention officer allegedly saw Arlette Jackson, 45, of 1599 Chapel St., New Haven, take the tags off of several articles of clothing valued at about $400 and replace them with $2 clearance tickets, Smith said.

The Loss Prevention Officer tried to stop Jackson from leaving the store, Smith said, but Jackson allegedly got into the car, put it in reverse and twice hit the officer in the knee and thigh.
Officer Robert O’Neill investigated the incident and applied for the warrant, Smith said. On Tuesday Hamden Police Det. Raymond Quinn, who is assigned to the United States Marshal Service Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force, arrested Jackson at her home, Smith said.
