Police: Hamden Man Stole Copper Pipes from Home

The 55-year-old man caused extensive water damage when he stole copper pipes from a home, police said.

Woodbridge police have arrested a 55-year-old Hamden man, charging him with a November burglary in which a Rimmon Road home received extensive water damage after many copper pipes were cut and removed from it.

A washing machine and other items were also stolen from the home. Detectives had forensic evidence at the scene linking the Hamden man with the crime, police said.

Working with Hamden police, Woodbridge police on Monday arrested Lee Chenault, 55, of Butler Street in Hamden. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and first-degree criminal mischief.
