Second Arrest in June Augur Street Home Invasion

A second man has been arrested in connection with the June 26 home invasion on Augur Street.

Turone Kelly, 30, of 133 Clay Street, New Haven was arrested Thursday on charges of home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, first-degree unlawful restraint, conspiracy to commit first-degree unlawful restraint, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny. 

Kelley was detained on a court ordered $250,000 bond, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

The charges are in connection with a home invasion where four people wearing mask, forced entry into an Augur Street home through a first floor window, according to Hamden Police.

A 34 year-old female woman who confronted the subjects was duct-taped in mouth, hands and feet, while a gun was at her head, according to police. About 20 minutes later, when the male resident returned home, he too was attacked, struck in the head with a porcelain object, according to police.

The four man then fled, stealing electronic items, according to police. 

Detective Brian Stewart conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Kelley, Smith said. He was arrested Thursday at Meriden Superior Court, Smith said.

Tywan Edwards was arrested on July 24 for his involvement in the incident.
