Second Burglary Arrest in a Month for Hamden Man
In August, Brett Coots was arrested for burglarizing a Davis Street home, and now he's facing charges in connection with a Ridge Road burglary.

A Hamden man is facing charges that he is responsible for the burglary of a Ridge Road home last month.
On Wednesday Hamden Police arrested on a warrant Brett Coots, 26, of 90 Ford St., Hamden at Meriden Superior Court. He was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.
The arrest stems from an Aug. 19 incident, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith, when Coots allegedly broke into the Ridge Road home through a basement door and stole cash and bottles of wine. The homeowners were on vacation at the time of the burglary, Smith said.

Detective John Marks investigated and as a result of that investigation submitted an arrest warrant application, which was subsequently approved, for Coots, who had been arrested on Aug. 18 for burglarizing a Davis Street residence, Smith said.
Coots was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and arraigned at court later in the day.
