Stephen Humes, a resident of Hamden and a junior Acting major, was named to the Dean's List in Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences for the fall 2012 semester.

The following Hamden residents were among 1,337 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2012 semester:
Christopher Byrne, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering.
Alexander Solomon, a sophomore majoring in computer science.
David Bartlett, a freshman majoring in interactive media and game development.
The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Hamden residents Eric Granucci of the class of 2013 and Obaid Farooqui of the class of 2016 were named to the Tufts University Dean's List for the Fall 2012 semester. Dean's List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Lori Ryder of Hamden graduated in December from Saint Joseph's College of Maine with a Master of Science in Nursing.

Hannah Dorsch, of Hamden, has been named to Alvernia University's Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester. Dorsch is a Junior Criminal Justice major at Alvernia. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.
