The Hamden resident struck by a car Monday evening is now facing charges in connection with the accident.
Deloris Smith, 45, of Hamden, was crossing Dixwell Avenue,north of Woodin Street at about 8:15 p.m. when she walked into the path of a car traveling south on Dixwell Avenue, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith suffered minor injuries and was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment, Smith said. She also was given an infraction for crossing between an intersection, he said.

No charges were filed against the operator of the motor vehicle, Smith said.
