15 Displaced, Dog Killed In Serious Hartford Fire: HFD
The blaze on Thursday badly damaged a multi-unit apartment building, with the Red Cross helping out those impacted.
HARTFORD, CT — A serious fire in Hartford on Thursday claimed the life of a dog and badly damaged an apartment building on Madison Avenue.
According to the City of Hartford Fire Department, the two-alarm blaze was at 59 Madison Ave in the Parkville neighborhood.
The HFD said heavy fire was found on arrival, spreading through a three-story brick multi-family home.

No injuries were reported but "sadly, one dog did not survive," wrote the HFD.
In all, 15 people were displaced (6 adults and 9 children), with five families assisted by the American Red Cross & the HFD Special Services Unit

The cause is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
