2 Charged After Police Learn Hartford Storefront Was A Bordello: Police

The two men are facing prostitution and drug charges after police learned a storefront was home to an illegal bar/bordello.

HARTFORD, CT — City police this week have charged two men following a prostitution/drug sting on Park Street in Hartford, in which it was learned a storefront was being used as a sex den.

According to the Hartford Police Department, the suspects have been identified as:

• Mauricio Rojas, 43, who was charged with promoting/permitting prostitution, possession and sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, and illegal sale of alcohol.

• Carlos Camaro, 33, who was charged with promoting/permitting prostitution, possession and sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, and illegal sale of alcohol.

According to the Hartford Police Department, on Wednesday, Aug. 13, the Hartford Police Special Investigations, Vice, and Narcotics units executed a search warrant at 683 Park St.

The operation happened after an investigation revealed the storefront was a front for illegal sex, alcohol, and narcotics sales, police said.

The basement contained an unlicensed bar, rentable pool tables, and small rooms used for sexual acts.

Officers seized 163 grams of cocaine packaged for sale and $28,989 in cash.
