Connecticut Celebrates Community Health Center Week to Highlight Essential Health Services

This week of recognition coincides with National Health Center Week, celebrated August 3–9.

Hartford, CT - Governor Lamont has officially proclaimed the week of August 3rd as Community Health Center Week in Connecticut, in recognition of the vital contributions made by the state’s 17 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). This week of recognition coincides with National Health Center Week, celebrated August 3–9, a nationwide initiative that honors the critical role health centers play in delivering accessible, quality healthcare to individuals across the United States.

Connecticut’s 17 Community Health Centers provide high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health care to 440,000 people across Connecticut. They serve all people, regardless of ability to pay, and are critical health care providers and employers. On average, nearly two-thirds of patients at the Community Health Centers statewide have Medicaid coverage, where their care cannot be denied.
