HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man previously convicted of distributing drugs has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut said.

Andre Hudson, 43, of Hartford also admitted in court to violating the conditions of his supervised release from a prior federal conviction, officials said.

On Sept. 8, 2021, a Connecticut State Police trooper stopped Hudson for speeding, officials said, citing court documents and statements made in court.

He will be sentenced on July 28.

In 2007, Hudson was sentenced in Connecticut to 108 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine, officials said.

In 2019, he was sentenced in Vermont to 30 months in prison for distributing crack and heroin, as well as another 24 months in prison for violating the conditions of his supervised release in the Connecticut case.

Hudson, who was granted compassionate release from prison in June 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, was on supervised release when he was arrested in September 2021.

He was released on bond and is currently in home confinement while he awaits sentencing, officials said.
