Enjoy Free Yoga In Hartford Through October

Connecticare is offering free yoga classes in multiple parks in Hartford through October to boost residents' bodies and minds.

HARTFORD, CT—This year, Residents of select Connecticut cities, including Hartford, will have free access to classes that teach good health for both the body and mind.

"Yoga In Our City," presented by ConnectiCare, recently announced the return of the program’s 13th season, which began May 18 and runs through Oct. 12.

The program offers no-cost, accessible yoga classes at parks in Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, and Waterbury.

The free yoga class in Hartford is on Thursday, June 12, at Elizabeth Park, 1561 Asylum Ave., Hartford/West Hartford. The program schedule is available online.

To create an inclusive space for individuals of all ages and ability levels to experience yoga, the program hosts more than 700 yoga classes annually at no cost to participants, led by local teachers in each city.

“As we begin our 13th season of Yoga In Our City, we’re honored to keep creating welcoming spaces for people to move, breathe, and connect together,” said Yizza Galdamez, managing director of Yoga In Our City.

“With continued support from our partners at ConnectiCare, we’re proud to offer yoga that’s inclusive, and held right in the heart of our public parks across Connecticut. Whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, there’s a place for you on the mat.”

The 2025 season includes classes seven days per week at select parks, including classes led by bilingual teachers.

Participants are encouraged to bring a bottle of water, a yoga mat, and a towel or blanket to each class.

Yoga In Our City is supported by a statewide coalition of partners and funders, including the Department of Public Health, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, the Health Collective, Mental Health Connecticut, YWCA Hartford Region, AARP Connecticut, Sustainable CT, Connecticut Recreation and Parks Association, and the Connecticut Health Council.
