Four Named To Hartford-Area Hospital's Board Of Directors

Two new members are medical professionals, while two are chief executives at Hartford-based nonprofit organizations.

HARTFORD, CT — Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford has announced four new members to its board of directors.

Joining the leadership group are Hector Glynn, David Hopkins, Dr. Edward Kelly, and Dr. Ronald Kimmel.

Glynn serves as the president and chief executive officer of The Village for Families and Children, Inc., a Hartford-based nonprofit.

Since joining The Village in 2007, Glynn has held various leadership roles, culminating in his current appointment in January 2024.

With expertise in program development, strategy, and advocacy, he has played a key role in statewide initiatives and frequently testifies before the legislature on issues affecting children and
families.

Hopkins is president and chief executive of the Urban League of Greater Hartford, a non-profit 501(c)3 whose mission is to promote racial equity through economic empowerment.

Since joining the agency in 2019, Hopkins has grown the budget through aggressive fundraising and cost management, strategic partnerships, and expanded programming.

Kelly serves as chair of the Department of Dentistry and President of the Medical Staff at
Saint Francis.

Kelly maintains a clinical practice at the Saint Francis Dental Center, while also
overseeing the employment, budget, and credentialing of the department.

Kimmel is an internal medicine physician with Prime HealthCare, a partner in Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group.

Kimmel provides comprehensive primary care services to patients while also providing clinical oversight for APRNs in the practice.

He serves as a teacher and mentor to medical students and internal medicine residents and is responsible for the financial performance of the office.
