Hartford Festival/Road Races To Celebrate Magic Of Movement
The event will take place at one of Hartford's most historic city parts on Saturday, July 12.

HARTFORD, CT — All abilities, ages and fitness levels are invited to the 4th annual "MOVE! With the Urban League of Greater Hartford" event on Saturday, July 12.
The Hartford Marathon Foundation and the Urban League of Greater Hartford are collaborating again with presenting sponsor RTX–Pratt & Whitney to host the 5K race and Movement Festival of fitness activities and fun inhistoric Keney Park, near the park’s Woodland Street entrance, off Greenfield Street in Hartford.

The family-friendly event celebrates the many ways members of the community are active while also
showcasing the amenities of Keney Park, the “Jewel of the City” and one of the largest designed park
landscapes in the U.S.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with the 5K race and a 1-mile run/walk.

At 10:15 a.m., the free HMF FitKids fun run takes place, followed by the awards presentation, including the Exum Award in honor of former RTX–Pratt & Whitney executive and Urban League Board member Earl Exum.
Meanwhile, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., the public can enjoy a free Movement Festival with live entertainment, fresh produce distribution, food, health information, fitness activities, arts and crafts, community resources, and music by DJ Sammie Soca.
As part of the festival, people can sign up a team or join a team and compete in the Urban League Young Professionals YP Games.
“We are excited to continue supporting this engaging community event that welcomes all ages, backgrounds and abilities to enjoy a great morning of running, walking and fitness activities together with our partners at the Urban League of Greater Hartford," said Josh Miller, president of the Hartford Marathon Foundation.
“The Urban League is known for its youth, workforce and housing programs, and of course for its Civil Rights work, so this event helps show our commitment to health as well,” said David Hopkins, President and chief executive officer of the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
“The race community, fitness enthusiasts, nutrition and medical experts come together at our event to show how important health is to economic mobility.”
Entry Fees for Runs/Walk:
• Adults: $25 for 5K or the 1-Mile – includes a T-shirt.
• Ages 13 through 21: $15 for 5K or the 1-Mile – includes a T-shirt.
• Ages 12 and under: Free for 1-Mile and HMF FitKids Fun Run – T-shirts are available for purchase.
• Free Admission for all ages to the 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Movement Festival.
• Young Professionals YP Games: Register in advance online for $10 per person by July 11 at
