Hartford Man Charged With Murder In Shooting Death Of 34-Year-Old

Police have accused a 43-year-old man of murdering a 34-year-old Hartford resident on Park Street earlier this month.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police have charged a man with murder following the shooting death of a 34-year-old man earlier this month.

Javier Hernandez-Jiminian, 34, died on May 2, the day after he was shot in the area of 493 Park St., Hartford. Though he was taken to Hartford Hospital following the shooting and was initially listed in critical but stable condition, he died the next day, police said.

Investigating officers identified Joseph Rodriguez, 43, of Hartford as a suspect in the shooting and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Today, officers found Rodriguez in Springfield, Massachusetts. There, they arrested him on charges of murder and criminal possession of a firearm.

Rodriguez is currently being held in custody, police said.
