The 37-year-old scuffled with police at a CTfastrak station in Hartford back last August and was found with drugs in his possession.
HARTFORD, CT — A court jury has convicted a Hartford man in connection with a scuffle with police at a CTfastrak bus station last summer in which he possessed cocaine and fentanyl.
Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford Judicial District state’s attorney, said Friday a state superior jury in Hartford, March 24, found Jesse Chambers, 37, of Hartford, guilty of possession of a controlled substance and interfering with police.
According to evidence at the trial, on Aug. 24, 2024, state troopers were conducting surveillance of the CTfastrak station located on New Park Avenue in Hartford.

According to Walcott, troopers approached Chambers and advised him he was being detained.
She said Chambers struggled against the Troopers and was eventually arrested.
A search of his satchel revealed that he was in possession of cocaine and fentanyl, according to Walcott.
Walcott thanked state police “for their diligence in keeping the CTfastrak stations safe for passengers who depend on reliable transportation, free from narcotics dealing, vagrancy, and nuisance offenses."
"There are children, youths, and adults who rightfully expect an enjoyable experience on the CTfastrak and at the stations," Walcott said in a statement.
The case was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Edward Azzaro and Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Maurilio Amorim, with the assistance of Inspector Derek Sutton.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 22 in Hartford Superior Court.
