Hartford Opens Up 9 Warming Center Sites Amid Cold Snap
The City of Hartford is utilizing 7 libraries and 2 churches to provide a respite for folks suffering from the cold and with no place to go.
HARTFORD, CT — Hartford this week has opened nine different warming centers throughout the city, according to the City of Hartford.
"We've activated the severe cold weather protocol to ensure Hartford residents have easy access to a place they can go to stay warm," said Mayor Arunan Arulampalam.
“If you are in need of shelter over the next few days, please make sure to head to one of these daytime warming locations or call 2-1-1 for the nearest overnight warming shelter.”

The City of Hartford Department of Health and Human Services posted the locations of the shelters on its Facebook page.
They are located in the city's seven public libraries, the Center Church at 60 Gold St., and the Capitol Holy Trinity Church on Hudson Street.

State cold weather protocols were enacted Monday evening, Dec. 29, and continue through Sunday, Jan. 4.
