HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man who pleaded guilty to his involvement in a drug trafficking ring will spend over five years in prison, U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea decided on Thursday.

Shea sentenced Tahir Bruff (aka "Gangster" or "G"), 46, of Hartford to 65 months (nearly 5.5 years) in prison followed by three years of supervised release, the Connecticut District Attorney's office announced today.

Bruff was arrested during an investigation into Ricardo Reyes (aka "Rick the Ruler"), a member of the Los Solidos street gang who distributed fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and crack near Park and Hungerford Streets in Hartford.

Using court-authorized wiretaps, investigators learned Bruff — a member of Los Solidos and a close associate of Reyes — supplied cocaine and crack to Reyes for both his personal use and distribution, the district attorney's office said in a news release.

Bruff also sold narcotics to other people in the area of Hungerford Street, the news release said.

He was arrested on June 17, 2019, and has been detained ever since the arrest. On June 27, 2019, a grand jury in Hartford returned an indictment charging him, Reyes, and 13 others with "various narcotics trafficking and firearm possession offenses," the news release said.

Bruff pleaded guilty on March 29, 2022, and each of his co-defendants pleaded guilty to their charges as well. Bruff is the last to be sentenced, the district attorney's office said.

Reyes was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Feb. 11, 2021.
