Hartford PD To Conduct Drunk/Impaired Driving Checkpoint

The overnight checkpoint is part of the city's crackdown on drunk/impaired driving in the city.

HARTFORD, CT— City police this week announced that a drunk/impaired driving checkpoint will be set up in the city from Thursday night into Friday morning.

According to the Hartford Police Department, the checkpoint will begin Thursday, June 5, at 5 p.m. and continue to 1 a.m. early Friday morning, June 6.

The checkpoint, police said, will be in the area of 217 Wethersfield Ave. in Hartford.

Police said the checkpoint is part of the HPD's expanded enforcement program targeting drunk/impaired motorists.

It is being supervised by the HPD's traffic unit and is funded by the state Department of Transportation's OUI Enforcement Program.
