HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police officers will be on the lookout for people driving under the influence on Thursday night.
From 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Thursday, officers will be stationed in the area of 150 New Britain Ave. to conduct an Operating Under the Influence Enforcement Checkpoint, they said in a news release. (Police said on Facebook that the department is legally required to notify the public ahead of its checkpoints.)
"We value lives and the safety of our roads. Because we value our community we will be doing a OU Checkpoint," police wrote on Facebook. "Together we have been able to reduce the number of fatal and non-fatal accidents in our city. Help us in our mission to reduce our fatal accidents to zero."
