Hartford Public Schools To Cut Nearly 400 Jobs: Reports
Of the 387 jobs set to be cut, 320 are school staff positions and 67 are from the Central Office, reports say.

HARTFORD, CT — Nearly 400 jobs at Hartford Public Schools are set to be cut due to the "unfortunately reality" of a lack of funding, according to multiple reports that cite the superintendent.
The cuts will include 156 general teaching positions and 158 administration, counseling, social work, and non-special-needs paraeducator positions, WTNH reported.
Of the 387 jobs set to be cut, 320 are school staff positions and 67 are from the Central Office, according to NBC Connecticut.

"Some of these are currently vacant and others are funded by ESSER, so they were always considered to be temporary," Superintendent Leslie Torres-Rodriguez said in a statement shared with WTNH. "Nonetheless, these reductions will have an impact on our schools and our district."
