"All searches were negative, everyone made it out safely," wrote firefighters. "No injuries to civilians or firefighters reported at this time."
Several residents were treated for possible smoke inhalation on scene, and no one was transported to the hospital, the HFD said.
Fire officials said, however, that one dog died at the fire and "our thoughts and prayers are with the family."
The HFD said the fire is currently under investigation and its Special Services Unit worked with the American Red Cross to assist two families (eight people — four adults/four children) that were displaced.
Wethersfield Avenue
Hartford firefighters then battled their third fire of the shift overnight, the second one impacting a building.
The late-night blaze was at 210 Wethersfield Ave., fire officials said, an occupied, 2.5-story brick commercial property located in the city’s South End neighborhood.
"Upon arrival, they encountered heavy fire and high heat conditions, fire was on the rear porches and had extended to the second floor and third floor," wrote the HFD.
The HFD said a second alarm was requested for additional resources, and multiple fire crews worked to extinguish the fire, eventually knocking it down.
Searches proved negative, and no injuries were reported to civilians.
The HFD said two firefighters were transported to a nearby hospital due to minor injuries.
This fire is currently under investigation, and no relocations were necessary.
