The Urban League of Greater Hartford on Wednesday, April 30, is hosting 'Wellness Wednesday,' an outdoor event for health and fitness.

HARTFORD, CT — A city-based social services organization is hosting a special celebration to celebrate National Minority Health Month and Physical Wellness Month next week.

On Wednesday, April 30, the Urban League of Greater Hartford is hosting "Wellness Wednesday" from 5 to 7 p.m. outdoors in the League's parking lot at 140 Woodland St. (corner of Woodland and Sargeant streets).

The rain date is Wednesday, May 7.

"Urban League of Greater Hartford’s annual Wellness Wednesday event promotes Health and Fitness for all ages," wrote the League in an announcement.

The goal, the Urban League said, is to boost "health and fitness with community partners through the eight dimensions of wellness:.

Those dimensions are "physical, social, emotional, intellectual, environmental, financial, occupational, and spiritual."

Wednesday's event will feature:

· Tours of the Urban Eats fresh aeroponic garden and distribution of free produce.

· "Ask the Doc" with your medical questions.

· Health screenings.

· A 5:30 p.m. live cooking demonstration.

· Personal trainer tips and techniques.

· Fitness stations with first-hand challenges.

· Massages.

· Zumba fitness and line dancing

No reservations required and free parking available.
