Many Displaced After Hartford Apartment Building Fire: HFD
Several families were impacted by the fire Saturday afternoon, which badly damaged a four-story apartment building.

HARTFORD, CT — A serious apartment building fire Saturday afternoon displaced 26 residents in Hartford, badly damaging the four-story structure.
According to the Hartford Fire Department, crews responded at approximately 2:10 p.m. July 26 to a working structure fire at 66 Webster St.
The structure is a four-story apartment building located in the city’s Barry Square neighborhood.

"Upon arrival, firefighters encountered visible fire from the ... corner of the building," wrote the HFD in a statement. "A rapid and coordinated fire attack was initiated, and the fire was brought under control shortly after arrival."
The HFD said primary and secondary searches were conducted throughout the building and it was determined that all got out safely.

Hartford fire officials said there were no civilian injuries, but one firefighter reported a minor injury and was treated on scene and not transported.
The HFD Special Services Unit is working with the American Red Cross to assist 14 families (25 adults and one child) who were displaced.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office.
