Park For $5 In Hartford During Summer Nights, Weekends

HARTFORD, CT — In an effort to attract more people to downtown Hartford, LAZ Parking and Shelbourne will offer $5 parking in four garages on nights and weekends this summer.

The discounted fee applies to the Temple Street garage, the Allyn Street parking lot, and the garages at 1000 Main St. and 100 Pearl St., the Hartford Business Journal reported.

It will be in effect from Memorial Day to Labor Day throughout each weekend and on weekdays from 4 p.m. on, according to the HBJ — excluding days where events are being held at the XL Center or Dunkin' Donuts park.

"With the resurgence of pedestrian traffic in the downtown, we want to do all we can support and encourage people to come here to dine, shop and have fun," said Michael Seidenfeld, chief operating officer at Shelbourne, as reported by the Hartford Courant.
