Saint Francis Names New Hospital President
Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford has appointed a veteran healthcare administrator from Florida to take over as president.

HARTFORD, CT — A prominent hospital in Connecticut's capital city has a new leader, with Saint Francis Hospital this week naming a new president.
Veteran healthcare administrator Valerie L. Powell-Stafford Monday was officially named president at the Hartford hospital.

Powell-Stafford arrives in Hartford with more than 25 years of experience, having most recently served as president and chief executive officer of HCA Northside Hospital, in St. Petersburg, Fla., since 2019.
In this role, Powell-Stafford will also oversee Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital.

She will officially begin her new role on June 3.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming Ms. Powell-Stafford as President of Saint Francis Hospital,” said Montez Carter, president and chief executive officer of Trinity Health Of New England, which owns and operates Saint Francis.
