Special Event This Weekend To Showcase Greater Hartford's School Options
The state is hosting a 'School Choice Faire' in East Hartford to provide information to parents/pupils about several free magnet schools.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — A special event Saturday in East Hartford promises to help pupils and parents alike decide if they want to attend the myriad magnet school options in the area.
The Connecticut Department of Education’s Greater Hartford Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) is hosting a "School Choice Fair" on Saturday, Oct. 25.
It will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (doors close at 12:30 p.m.) at the Connecticut River Academy, 9 Riverside Drive, East Hartford.

This is a family-friendly event to help parents and students explore the free PreK-12 public school choice options in the Greater Hartford Region.
Guests will be able to speak with representatives from RSCO’s over 40 themed magnet schools, the Open Choice Program, and three regional technical high schools.

They will also learn about transportation, sports, and extracurricular activities, and get details on the RSCO online application, which opens Dec. 3.
In addition, the school choice fair will have free snacks, activities, and giveaways while supplies last.
