Two Families Displaced After Monday Morning Blaze In Hartford: FD
The American Red Cross and local fire officials are helping eight people, including three children, who were impacted.
HARTFORD, CT — Two families were displaced Monday morning after a fire ripped through a two-story, multi-family residence on Putnam Street.
According to the Hartford Fire Department, the blaze seriously damaged a building on 248 Putnam St., Hartford, at about 1:19 a.m. Monday morning.
The HFD described the building as a two-story brick multifamily residence in the city’s Frog Hollow neighborhood.

"Crews located fire in a first-floor rear bedroom with extension into the kitchen," wrote the HFD Monday morning. "Firefighters made a quick, aggressive, interior attack and contained the fire to the area of origin."
The HFD said two adult occupants from the second floor were safely removed from the building, and no injuries were reported among residents or firefighters.

According to the American Red Cross, two families comprised of eight people total (five adults, three children) were displaced because of the blaze and are receiving help from the Red Cross.
In addition, the Hartford Fire Special Services Unit is assisting the affected families.
The Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
