Uber Driver Charged With Sexual Assault: East Hartford PD

The incident happened early Saturday morning, with a 38-year-old suspect still in police custody.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — Local police have charged an Uber driver with sexual assault following an incident Saturday morning in a restaurant parking lot.

According to the East Hartford Police Department, on Monday, Isaac Boafo, 38, was charged with first-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.

Boafo is being held on $100,000 and will next appear in Hartford Superior Court on May 12, according to online court records.

Police said that on Saturday, March 28, just before 5 a.m., officers were sent to the Margaritas parking lot at 350 Roberts St.

Police said a victim who told officers she was recently sexually assaulted by an Uber driver.

According to police, detectives arrived on scene a short time later and were able to locate the suspect's vehicle in a commuter lot in nearby Manchester.

Police said EHPD detectives were able to locate Isaac Boafo inside the vehicle and took him into custody.
