Once the scene was rendered safe, troopers began to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.

Police said several bystanders stopped to speak with troopers and inquire about what happened, but soon after carried on.

One individual in particular, however, stood out to investigators as he remained on scene observing the damage longer than any other bystanders at the station, police said.

CT Fastrack personnel later advised Troop H that the damage caused by the fire in the vestibule was estimated to require up to $13,000 in repairs.

Investigative efforts continued throughout the day on Saturday, March 29, to include reviewing surveillance footage from the Fastrack station at the time of the incident.

"Troopers located a suspect at this time, and it was determined the suspect captured on camera at the time of the fire matched the individual who stood out while on scene earlier in the day," wrote state police in a statement Monday.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 30, the same individual was observed on surveillance cameras at the Kane Street Fastrack station in Hartford.

Troopers responded and located the suspect at approximately 12:21 a.m., and he was detained without incident, Police said.

The suspect was positively identified as Davis.

According to state police, Davis was found to have two butane torches, and he later admitted to starting the fire at the Sigourney Street station.

Davis was taken into custody and transported to Troop H.
