Worker Pinned From Waist Down Rescued In Hartford

Officials say the rescue operation took about 45 minutes.

HARTFORD, CT — A man who had become pinned from the waist down at a Hartford industrial site was rescued Saturday morning.

According to the Hartford Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the industrial site on Brainard Road around 10:22 a.m. for reports of two employees trapped in mechanical equipment.

The department said one of the employees was free and another was pinned from the waist down.

Firefighters "engaged in a very complex and difficult technical rescue" to safely extricate the worker. Officials say the rescue operation took 45 minutes and the employee was transported to Hartford Hospital.
