Big Giveaway Planned As Foxwoods Opens New Space

MASHANTUCKET, CT — Foxwoods Resort Casino will unveil its new Poker Room on Sept. 9 with a grand opening event that includes a $25,000 giveaway.

The celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony inside The Fox Tower. Poker games will begin at 11 a.m., with the Hot Seat Giveaway running from noon to 10 p.m. Players will have the chance to win $1,000 every 30 minutes, leading up to a $5,000 drawing at 10 p.m.

The new Poker Room, located in The Fox Tower, features automated sign-up kiosks for quicker seating, 37 high-definition televisions showing live sports and poker, and proximity to DraftKings Sportsbook kiosks. Casino officials said the redesign focuses on technology, comfort, and convenience.

“From day one, Foxwoods has been about energy, evolution and putting our guests first,” Jason Guyot, president and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino, said in a statement.

Foxwoods has previously been recognized as home to one of the first major poker rooms in the United States. The new space is part of ongoing renovations at the resort, which have included updates to dining, nightlife, and hotel offerings.

The Poker Room will operate Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m.
