Huge Water Park, Resort Opens At Foxwoods: What To Know
The wait is over: Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket has an opening date and is running a special for those who book soon.
MASHANTUCKET, CT — Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket will officially open its doors to the public on Tuesday, May 6.
The $300-million, 549-room indoor water-park and eight-story resort broke ground on a 13-acre property next to Foxwoods early last year.
The opening date has moved up several times as construction on the project has been ahead of schedule.

The resort will feature a 92,000-square-foot indoor water park with 13 slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, splash areas, and two signature attractions: the Pequot Plunge and Rapid Racer.
The property will also house the Great Wolf Adventure Park, offering a multi-level ropes course, the brand’s first indoor zipline element, miniature golf, an arcade, and the interactive MagiQuest live-action game.

Other amenities include themed family suites, nightly shows in the Grand Lobby, and a full-service restaurant, Fireside, featuring local specialties.
An opening ceremony is scheduled for the morning of May 6, with remarks from Great Wolf Resorts CEO John Murphy, Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket General Manager Henry Tessman, and Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Chairman Rodney Butler.
Following the ceremony, the resort will open to visitors for tours of the water park, adventure park, and other areas.
Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket is the company’s newest location and the first in Connecticut. The lodge aims to attract families year-round with its indoor attractions and accommodations.
The Mashantucket location will be the company's 23rd resort.
The property will boast more than 7,500 square feet of flexible conference space with breakout rooms, built in A/V technology, and customizable catering options.
Great Wolf Lodge is currently running a sale of 30 percent off for those who book stays this summer before April 30.
