Ledyard Animal Control Clean-Up Rescheduled

The April 10 spring clean-up at the pound has been rescheduled due to the weather forecast.

Ledyard Animal Control's spring clean-up/appreciation day has been postponed due to the weather forecast. The event was originally scheduled for Sunday, April 10.

Ledyard CHAIN rescheduled the event to Sunday, April 24, at 1 J Alfred Clark Way, Ledyard. The clean-up will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"Hopefully the weather is more in our favor that day," Animal Control said. "We hope many of you can stop by with a flower to plant or just to say 'hi!' Bring your furry friends!"

Details From Ledyard C.H.A.I.N.

This year we are doing something a little different for the Ledyard Animal Control Appreciation Day. The shelter is in need of yard work and sprucing up for Spring. We could not think of a better way to show our appreciation for our ACO's than to get together and have a spring clean up day at the shelter. Everyone is welcome! Bring the kids, tell your friends, and round up the pets (they must be on leash and up to date on vaccines.) and come spend the day at the shelter.

We will be planting flowers, picking up downed limbs, spreading mulch, raking gravel, and beautifying where we can. We are asking each person to bring something that can either be used to work with such as shovels, rakes, a garden hose, garden gloves, etc.or that can be donated towards the beautification of the grounds such as bedding plants, flower bulbs, mulch, garden flags or some type of yard art. Remember pet themed items are appreciated!

Unable to do yard work or not free that day but you still want to give? You can drop off anything you'd like to contribute prior to the event at the shelter or you can offer a cash donation that will be used to purchase some needed supplies for the cat room.

Even if you can't work that day, we hope that you can still drop by and give the ACO’s a hello and watch your community in action. Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. will be there cooking hot dogs. Bring a chair! If you have any questions feel free to call C.H.A.I.N. at 860-287-3504.

Extra parking is available in the Public Works lot next door to the shelter. Please do not block the road way of people needing to get to the transfer station.
