Serious Accident in Ledyard Turns Fatal: Police
A 23-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene of the Route 214 accident.
Ledyard Police responded to a serious car accident on Route 214 near Iron Street on Tuesday, April 5.
According to The Day, 23-year-old Jaclyn R. Smith, of 14 Robin Lane, Ledyard, was extricated from the car and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours between Route 117 and Spicer Hill Road, while police investigated the accident.
The car reportedly hit a tree near 43 Iron St.
