Cheney Tech Dismissed Early As Potent Narcotic Found In Rest Room
Fentanyl was found at Cheney Tech in Manchester Friday.

MANCHESTER, CT — Cheney Tech had an early dismissal Friday as state troopers investigated a suspicious substance.
At 10:35 a.m., school security staffers at Cheney Tech notified the school resource officer about a powdery substance found on the floor of a rest room. Field testing was administered as part of this investigation and it came up as fentanyl, state police said.
There have been no reported incidents of exposure or injury, but school was dismissed early as a precaution, state police said.

"This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and there is no threat to the public at this time," state police said.
