'Disturbing' Social Post Hurled At Catholic School In Manchester
Police were called as a "caution" after a social medial post was directed at a Catholic school in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police are investigating what they are terming "a disturbing social media post" directed toward a Catholic school in town.
The post was found on a social media platform Tuesday night, and the origin of the post aimed at St. Bridget School was still not known on Wednesday, Manchester Police Department spokesman Lt. Ryan Shea said.
Detectives are actively investigating the matter and were at the campus Thursday, Shea said.

Shea said the post presented no danger to the public.
In a message to the school community Wednesday, St. Bridget administrators said, "This morning, it was brought to our attention that there was some disturbing information posted on social media last night. After speaking with the parents, we decided to call the police."

St. Bridget is open to students on grades Pre-K through Grade 8. The school's motto is, "We are open to students of all faiths and cultures. The mission of the school is to help each student grow spiritually, academically, and socially."
Parish and school spokesman Rob Muirhead said students were safely in their classes Wednesday. There is a scheduled day off on Thursday.
He said the police were called "out of an abundance of caution."
Muirhead added."We have to take things like this seriously, so we reached out to the police department, just in case."
