From Manchester Student to Board President
Dr. Bethany Silver '90 becomes the first Manchester Community College graduate to lead the MCC Foundation Board.

The Manchester Community College (MCC) Foundation is pleased to welcome its new Board President, Dr. Bethany Silver ’90 — the first graduate of Manchester Community College (now CT State Manchester) to serve in this role. Dr. Silver brings more than 20 years of experience in education, leadership, and research, along with a lifelong connection to the College she once called home.
Dr. Silver began her professional journey at Manchester as a psychology instructor in 1994. She later joined the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education, where she served as Director of the Professional Development Academy and Assistant Professor of Educational Technology. Her academic career also includes advising doctoral research at Central Connecticut State University, teaching graduate-level courses at both institutions, and collaborating on research initiatives with Hartford Hospital, Hartford Public Schools, the Capitol Region Education Council, and Bloomfield Public Schools. In addition, she has served on the Manchester Board of Education.
A nationally and internationally recognized scholar, Dr. Silver has published and presented on predictive modeling, instructional data teaming, and the development of visionary data environments that support student success. She also holds a U.S. patent for an assessment reporting system.

A proud MCC graduate and first-generation college student, Dr. Silver credits her time at Manchester with helping her find her footing in higher education and student leadership. As she steps into her role as Board President, she brings both professional expertise and a deeply personal commitment to advancing opportunity, access, and success for the students and community served by CT State Manchester.
