MANCHESTER, CT — A pedestrian was seriously hurt in a collision with a car Wednesday evening.

At 6:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 288 Center St. for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

According to an incident report, the preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle traveling westbound on Center Street, being operated by a 77-year-old man from Manchester, struck a 32-year-old Manchester woman who was on foot.

The woman sustained what police described as "life-threatening injuries" and she was transported to Hartford Hospital for emergency treatment, according to an incident report. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit. Anyone
