To accommodate race preparation, the following road closures will be in effect:

  • 5 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27: Main Street will close between Bissell Street and Maple Street for the installation of fencing and safety barriers.
  • 5:30 a.m.: Main Street will fully close to all traffic from Center Street to Charter Oak Street for the duration of the event.
  • 9 a.m.: The entire race route, along with I-384 Exits 4 and 5, will be closed to traffic.

Handicapped Parking

Designated handicapped parking areas will be available in several downtown lots. Individuals requiring accessible parking are strongly encouraged to arrive early. Please note that exiting the inner race route area by vehicle will not be possible until the race has fully concluded. Handicapped parking outside the race loop is recommended as-needed.

Shuttle Service

To reduce traffic congestion, a shuttle service will operate from CT State Community College Manchester (Manchester Community College) to the downtown area for both spectators and participants. Additional details can be found at the official race website: manchesterroadrace.com.

Safety Reminders

For the safety of all attendees, backpacks, containers, and bundled items must not be left unattended. Any such items found within the restricted area or along the race route will be confiscated. As always, if you see something, say something. Police officers will be stationed throughout Main Street and along the entire race route.

Said police, "The Manchester Police Department extends its appreciation to residents, participants, and visitors for their cooperation. Thank you for helping us make the 89th Manchester Road Race a safe and memorable event for all."
