The two dogs — a black intact male pit bull and a female brown-brindle and white pit bull — were found by officers in the woods adjacent to the Stop and Shop plaza that abuts directly to Heritage Kitchen & Bath on Broad Street, animal control officials said.
It was Saturday at about 2:30 p.m. when the discovery was made, officials said.

"The dogs were found huddled together in what we assume was an attempt to keep warm," animal control officials said. "It is suspected that the dogs were roaming elsewhere and traveled together to this final resting place, as there were no human footprints noted in the fresh snow. Unfortunately, both dogs were deceased upon arrival."
Photos of the deceased dogs have been posted on the Manchester Animal Control Facebook page.
"We ask that the public please provide us with any information that may lead to finding the person(s) responsible," animal control officials said. "Please contact the office and leave a voicemail with any information at 860-645-5516."
