Would you or someone you know like to be a little bit safer out in the world?

The Academy is offering a Self-Defense Seminar on Thursday October 9 from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

The goal of The Academy’s public self defense seminars is to give people some basic and simple strategies in order to defend themselves should it become necessary. Our seminar focuses on 5 main target areas to use when defending yourself. The techniques are easy to perform, they don’t take a lot of practice, and therefore are easy to remember and use if you ever need them.

This seminar is ideal for men and women who find themselves leaving work, the mall or the fitness center after dark. It’s also for runners, realtors, college students or anyone that wants to know what to do if they find themselves in an uncomfortable situation. We understand that events like this can be a little intimidating at first so we suggest participants bring a friend, co-worker, neighbor, or family member, age 15+, to enjoy the fun. Participants under 18 need a parent’s or guardian’s signature to attend.

The clinic is FREE. Participants should wear comfortable clothing. Pre-registration is required at Self-Defense Seminar Registration or by calling 860-646-7993.
