Convicted Felon Found With Stolen Gun: Meriden Police
The man was arrested after a traffic stop, according to police.

MERIDEN, CT — A convicted felon was arrested after being found in the possession of a stolen gun during a traffic stop Thursday in Meriden, according to police.
Members of the Meriden Crime Suppression Unit, along with the assistance of the patrol division, conducted a motor vehicle stop on Cook Avenue near Summer Street, according to police.
Police said the vehicle, a BMW, was being driven by Isaiah Williams.

“Located inside of the vehicle was a ‘Kel-Tec’ PMR30 .22 caliber handgun along with a ‘NcStar’ red dot gun sight,” police wrote in a news release.
A records check indicated that the gun was previously stolen out of Fayetteville, North Carolina, according to police.

Police said that since Williams is a convicted felon, he was “immediately placed under arrest.”
Williams, who turns 23 on Saturday, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, theft of a firearm, possession of a high-capacity magazine, two counts of interfering with police, failure to submit to fingerprints, misuse of registration plate, operation of a motor vehicle without a license, insufficient insurance, operation of an unregistered motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle with a canceled registration, no front registration plate, and obstructed view.
Police said Williams, whose last known address is in East Haven, was held in lieu of a $750,000 bond with a court date of Aug. 28.
