Dick’s Sporting Goods To Close Store At Meriden Mall

The Meriden location is reportedly the only store closing.

MERIDEN, CT — The Dick’s Sporting Goods store at the Meriden Mall will close its doors next month, according to multiple reports, including WFSB 3.

A sign posted at the door said the store’s last day of business will be April 20, according to the Connecticut Scoop.

The Meriden location will be the only store closing, according to the sign.

The closure leaves nine remaining Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in Connecticut, including locations in North Haven, Milford, Waterbury, Plainville, Canton, Farmington, Danbury, Manchester, and Enfield, according to its website.

The departure of Dick’s Sporting Goods will leave the Meriden Mall, which had 38 store vacancies to start 2024, with only one anchor store – Boscov’s, according to CT Insider.

National clothing retailer Charlotte Russe announced earlier this year that it was closing its store in the Meriden Mall.

CT Insider reported that Yale New Haven Health has had plans to redevelop the former Sears anchor space into a two-level medical facility, but the project has not yet fully moved forward.
