Symptoms can include but are not limited to fever, chills, sore throat, fatigue, runny nose or
congestion and new loss of taste or smell.
Persons should also test if they have been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID19. Persons should get a test 5 days after known exposure, and follow quarantine guidelines
until test results are obtained. Your local health department can explain quarantine guidelines.
Travel may also require a COVID-19 test; persons should contact their final destination to see
what the requirements are. Persons may also want to take a test if they are attending a large

Both laboratory tests and home tests are readily available. When in doubt on what type of test
to get, call your doctor or local health department. If a person is only going to be tested once, it
is recommended to get a laboratory test. If someone has had COVID-19 in the past 90 days they
should consult a healthcare provider for testing recommendations.
