Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Yes, I have been honored to be an elected member of the Meriden Board of Education.

Why are you seeking this office?
I am a product of the (Meriden) public schools. I had an incredible experience as a student, and I always want to ensure that our students and families have the same incredible experience.. I enjoy giving back to my community. I love Meriden.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
The single, most pressing issue facing my constituents is quality of life. And as a member of the Board of Education, member, I can assist my community by ensuring that we have an incredible school system starting off with a superintendent, who is the best in the state followed by responsible decision and budget making that gives each and every student the best opportunity to succeed. It’s all about our kids!

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
As a lifetime Meriden resident and active community member, I am looking to help All students - not just a single faction. As a team (Kim Pandiani, Al Pronovost, Matt Ehmka) are all invested in education. We want to continue to build our system, make great advances in curriculum, test scores and success for ALL students through working with our incredible superintendent, teachers, and students to ensure they have the best opportunities.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Safe schools are the number one priority. We will ensure that ( Meriden ) schools continue to be the safest schools for our students, teachers and community. We will continue to build award winning curriculum, expand our offerings at all levels and encourage our students.. The future is very exciting for ( Meriden ) especially in education. We are all invested to build a new Casmir Pulaski School and renovate Thomas Hooker School. These are just a few of the many things we will address..

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Over this term, we have had a national blue ribbon school, five state schools of distinction. Our test scores are beating towns like Wallingford, Cheshire Middletown, Cromwell, New Britain, Hamden.. We have investment in special education, added more teachers, school supports, and have had award winning athletic programs and state championship music programs

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Let’s keep politics out of education and let’s do what’s best for our kids. It’s all about student opportunity.. that advice came from Rob Kosienski

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
As a Mother, teacher, taxpayer, Board of Education, member and community member I am committed to giving 100% to the ( Meriden ) Board of Education. I will not let politics enter our schools and will always put our students first. ( Meriden ) has its best years ahead of us.
