Meriden Residents Win Big Lottery Prizes

The big wins came on scratch tickets, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

MERIDEN, CT — Two Meriden residents recently took home big lottery prizes on winning scratch tickets that were sold in nearby towns, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

One resident won $50,000 on a $500,000 CASHWORD 2nd EDITION scratch ticket that was sold at Sam’s Food Store at 224 Quinnipiac Avenue in North Haven, according to lottery officials.

Another resident won $20,000 on a 20X Cash 9th Edition scratch ticket that was sold at Stop & Shop at 1135 Farmington Avenue in the Kensington section of Berlin.

The CT Lottery has changed its policy on announcing winners by not including the winners’ full names on the list in order to protect them from potential scams, according to officials.
