Obituary: Donald L. Michaud, 56, formerly of Meriden

Don was a man of many trades, cherished his family and was always willing to share his knowledge with others.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Donald L. Michaud, 56, of Bristol, formerly of Meriden, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Bristol Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lisa (Brinkley) Michaud.

Donald was born in New Haven, CT December 28, 1965, a son of Theresa (Ouellette) Michaud and the late Robert Michaud. He grew up in Momauguin, East Haven and Hamden and graduated from Hamden High School in 1984.

His family later moved to Wallingford where he met his wife on Christmas Eve, 1987. They were married on May 23, 1992 and moved to Meriden and later Bristol in 2017.

Donald was a man of many trades.

He started off as a roofer working for his father and did mostly construction/carpentry work and was a locksmith. He could fix anything and was always willing to share his knowledge with others.

Donald loved nature and animals. He enjoyed fishing, waterfalls, listening to classic rock, watching movies and good conversation with his friends. His family meant the world to him, and he will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife Lisa and his mother Theresa, Donald is survived by his sisters: Patricia (Michaud) Muller of Wallingford and Jeanette Morrell and partner Bret Boyd of East Hampton; niece Sara Muller and nephew Michael Muller Jr. of Wallingford, niece Hailey Morrell of North Haven and nephew Tim Morrell Jr. of East Hampton, several aunts and uncles and many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 17th at 10am directly at Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony St., Wallingford.

Interment will follow at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in Don’s memory may be sent to The American Heart Association or Friends of Animals.
